The Ukrainian standardization agency "Derzstandart" has introduced a product certification system called UkrSEPRO. As a result, testing is mandatory for a large number of products. Imported products that have a Ukrainian conformity mark can be seen to comply with the UkrSEPRO system and an UkrSEPRO mark is essential.

Many manufacturers have found voluntary certification to be invaluable even for products that do not require a mandatory certificate. Voluntary or so-called negative certification is a tried and tested way of avoiding delays at the Ukrainian customs. You are free to choose between one-off certification or certification for one, three or five years. Testing and documentation requirements will vary, depending on the type of certificate.
