SG Mark
TÜV Rheinland also issues SG Mark for testing the quantities of toxic materials in leather products. Once a product has been qualified, TÜV Rheinland issues a certificate and performs spot checks regularly. The test is mainly to detect the quantities of arylamines, formaldehyde and PCP within regulated limits. For products designed for children or infants, the standards specified are stricter. Products marked with the SG Mark or the TOXPROOF Mark represent high quality as it ensures minimum risk on human health.
TOXPROOF Mark
TOXPROOF Mark is a safety mark issued by TÜV Rheinland, especially for testing the quantities of toxins in products. This TOXPROOF Mark can be issued for a wide variety of finished products such as textiles, furniture, construction materials, paints, vehicle interior material, etc. Whenever you see the TOXPROOF Mark on a product, it indicates that the product's toxin levels are below official limits.
In Europe, TOXPROOF Mark has been widely accepted and become an important decision making tool for consumers when buying a product. Well known international manufacturers apply for the TOXPROOF Mark to prove their confidence in products. A good example is car seat cover by German automobile manufacturer, Volkswagen, which also has received TOXPROOF Mark approval.
