SEMI-S2,-S8 Semiconductor Production

SEMI S2

Meeting SEMI S2 requirements is essential to your product's success. To ensure a standard of safety throughout the industry, the semiconductor equipment industry developed the SEMI S2 guideline covering a large range of safety and health provisions including regulatory requirements, electrical, mechanical, fire, chemical, radiation, noise, ergonomics hazards, emergency shutdown, ventilation, exhaust specifications, hazard warnings and more.

TÜV Rheinland Group and Clayton Environmental Consultants (a division of Clayton Group Services, Inc.) have teamed up together to provide the most comprehensive, single-source SEMI S2 and S8 assessment service.

SEMI S2-0200 Assessment

Our joint team of highly qualified engineers can perform this risk-based assessment on site. Our team members are experienced in electrical/mechanical safety, chemical exposure assessments and other areas of expertise required by the SEMI S2-0200 guideline.

SEMI S2 Mark

TÜV Rheinland is the first company to offer an internationally recognized, third-party SEMI S2 mark for approved semiconductor manufacturing equipment. SEMI recognizes this mark as an official document that denotes third-party compliance with the SEMI S2 standard and safety guidelines.

Product Design/Safety Compliance

We can help identify and address potential hazards and compliance issues before they become a problem. We can also help you to meet end-user design review requirements early in the equipment development stage.

SEMI S8: Ergonomics Evaluation

SEMI S8-0999 Ergonomics Guidelines specific to the semiconductor industry are designed to enhance worker efficiency, production & maintenance and minimize repetitive motion-related illness.

SEMI S8-0999 is required as part of SEMI S2 assessment. Our staff is trained to assess, identify and provide solutions to worker-related ergonomics issues.

Ventilation Systems Assessment

We have the expertise to conduct pattern assessments utilizing nebulizers, air velocity measurements and tracer gas studies of hazardous gas enclosures using sulfur hexafloride gas.

SEMI S2 - CE marking

While assessing your machinery to the SEMI S2 Guideline, our team can simultaneously perform cost-effective testing and certification to meet the requirements of the CE marking for the European Machinery, Low Voltage and EMC Directives.

CE Marking, which is necessary for exporting products to the European Union, can be obtained as part of your SEMI S2 assessment and the service can be provided by European Notified Body such as TÜV Rheinland Group.
