New Internationally Accepted DIN Certification Mark for Electrical Components -

As of today, the TÜV Rheinland Group will issue globally recognized DIN mark certificates to adapt to the changing needs of the electrical components market. Initially these DIN mark certificates will be issued in parallel to the existing TÜV Rheinland “Type Approved” certificates for components to enhance your market position.

ECHA Release of the new REACH 15 SVHC Candidate list -

The European chemical agency (ECHA) released its first candidate list of 15 substances of very high concern (SVHC) on October 2008. The ECHA will soon draft a proposal to the European Commission on the priority for these substances to be subject to authorization.

Australia ‘Energy Rating & Minimum Energy Performance’ (MEPS) amendment -

The regulation is currently scheduled that from 1 October 2008 External Power supplies with nominal 230Vac mains supply input and a single output at extra low voltage (ELV) either AC or DC and a maximum output of 250W or 250VA will be required to meet or exceed requirements of performance mark III.
