TÜV Rheinland Group
The TÜV Rheinland Berlin Brandenburg Pfalz e.V. is the sole shareholder of TÜV Rheinland Holding AG.
The traditional tasks of technical supervision and inspection performed primarily on behalf of the State (i.e., TÜV Rheinland performs the biannual compulsory car inspection in Germany) continue to be reserved for the TÜV Rheinland e.V. together with the companies directly subordinate to it: TÜV Rheinland Anlagentechnik GmbH, TÜV Rheinland Kraftfahrt GmbH and the Institute for Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Protection.
The Group companies controlled by TÜV Rheinland Holding AG operate exclusively in the free market. On the national side, TÜV interests include: the TÜV Rheinland Sicherheit und Umwelt GmbH (TÜV Rheinland Safety and Environment) which works on environmental safety issues, the TÜV Akademie (TÜV Rheinland Academy) which is involved in training and further education and the TÜV Rheinland Product Safety AG which deals with product testing and the award of test marks in the areas of electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and medical technology.
On the international side, the foreign subsidiaries in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia are united in the TÜV International GmbH.
