Take advantage of our service for the export of machines to the U.S. and Canada

In the U.S. and Canada, all electrically controlled equipments and systems must be approved per Articles 90-7, 110-2 and 110-3 of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Article 29 CFR 1910.301 (Subpart S) of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The approval can be demonstrated through a " Listing" or a " Field Evaluation". In order to conduct the approval process quickly and simply, we offer you the possibility of pre-inspecting your system in Germany. This allows you to implement any necessary modifications under your own control in your own production facilities.

Following installation in the U.S. or Canada, the system will then be checked onsite by our U.S. or Canadian staff in order to verify that the installation conforms with the relevant standards. Once it is verified, the system is marked with a numbered Field Label.

The approval of the system takes the Field Labels and the accompanying report by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) into the consideratoin.

By using our service, we help you avoid various problems as below.

  1. Approval problems with the local AHJ inspectors
  2. Delays in system start up
  3. High costs as a result of remotely controlled modifications in the U.S. or Canada
  4. Long wait times for the customer

Procedure

  1. Contact us in prior to the export of the system to the U.S. or Canada. In order to be able to provide you with a proposal, we require the technical documentation for the system and information on the installation location in the U.S..
  2. We visit your production facility in order to conduct the preliminary evaluation of the machine ready for export including the technical documentation, installation and operating instructions. Prior to exportation, there should be sufficient time for the implementation of possible modifications to the system.
  3. The preliminary evaluation is a result of the conformity with product specific to USA/Canada standards and local requirements.
  4. The technical documentation and the test report will then be sent to our responsible member of staff in the U.S. or Canada.

Following installation of the system in the U.S. or Canada, a simplified acceptance is effected by a TÜV Rheinland employee. The approval of the system is effected by the local AHJ .
