In 1972 our first international subsidiary was opened in Luxembourg, and six years later- in order to meet the growing demands of the international markets and to be able to offer our testing and certification services locally, TÜV  Rheinland Group Asia was established. 

Today, a total of 21 branch offices, including test laboratories in 9 Asian countries, belong to TÜV Rheinland Group Asia. (Japan)  

Shortly after, TÜV  Rheinland Korea Ltd. was established in 1987.


1872

  • Foundation of TÜV (Technical Inspection Association), formerly DÜV (Boiler Inspection Associatiion)

1970

  • The first subsidiary company established in Luxemburg.

1978

  • TÜV Rheinland Group Asia established. (Head office, Japan)

1987

  • TÜV Rheinland Korea established. (First foreign certification organization in Korea)

1989

  • Received authorization for certification on European Car Standard. (First in Korea)

1992

  • Safety Laboratory established.

1998

  • TÜV Rheinland Korea Daegu office opened.
  • Ergonomics Laboratory established.

2001

  • Recieved LG Electronic‘s appreciation plague. (Award)
  • Received CBTL status : Certification Body Testing Laboratory.
  • Telecom Laboratory established.

2003

  • Received BQTF status : Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility. (First in Korea)
  • Recognized as RTA : Recognized Testify Authority from Austrailia’s NATA (National Association of Testify Authorities)

2004

  • TÜV Rheinland Korea Changwon office opened.

2005

  • Awarded by Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) as top ten provider for Bluetooth listings worldwide.
  • ZigBee Wireless Laboratory established.

2006

  • Received Bluetooth SIG appreciation plague for highest number of Bluetooth listings worldwide.
  • TCO Laboratory established.
  • TÜV Rheinland Korea Head office and Laboratory moved to Guro Digital Complex, Seoul.

2007
