Approvals in Japan

In 2001, the DENAN Act superseded the DENTORI Act and transferred conformity assessment of Category A products from METI (the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) to accredited ACABs (authorized conformity assessment bodies).

We would be happy to advise you which category your product comes in.

For Category A products, a conformity certificate issued by an ACAB is required. We are a METI-accredited ACAB and offer you a comprehensive approval procedure for your products. Your product will then be awarded a diamond shaped PSE mark with TÜV Rheinland ACAB certification.

As a confidence building measure toward the Japanese reporting supplier
(a company listed in the Japanese Register of Companies that assumes responsibility for product liability in Japan), the S mark can be awarded in addition as a documentation of type testing and ongoing inspection of the production facility. 

For Category B products, the manufacturer must ensure compliance with Japanese laws and standards. The equipment must carry the round PSE mark. We offer in all three categories the S mark, a test mark that is registered in Japan.
