Our Competence in CSR
Founded in 1872 as a non-profit organization and headquartered in Germany, the Group is dedicated to the safeguarding of people, technology and the environment through independent and impartial inspection and assessment of facilities, products and systems, including management systems.
We believe that social and industrial development goes hand-in-hand with technical progress, and we are committed to helping our customers in bringing about these objectives. Our third-party verification ultimately creates trust between all stakeholders.
The TÜV Rheinland Group acknowledges its corporate social responsibility, proven by the development of a clear CSR strategy for our own company. We have been a member of the United Nations Global Compact since July 2006 and are committed to its underlying principles and aims.
The International TÜV Rheinland Global Compact Award, which is awarded to outstanding individuals and organisations that have furthered the goals of the Global Compact, reflects this commitment.

With long-term experience in such CSR-relevant areas as occupational health, consumer safety, and environmental protection, we serve industries ranging from automobiles and consumer goods, to food and retail. Our CSR competence is further illustrated by a project involving the European Union and the State of Berlin, who co-financed a CSR implementation strategy for small- and medium-sized companies which was shaped and developed by TÜV Rheinland.
