R.E.TOX®

R.E.TOX®

Reproductive Embryonic Toxicity is an alternative method for product testing that uses stem cells from mice, offering at least as much information as conventional animal testing about potential toxic effects, particularly on unborn human life.

Mouse stem cell testing (EST) was accepted by the European Scientific Advisory Committee (ECVAM) on the 15th May 2006, and complies with the Pan-European directive against animal testing for cosmetic, which is scheduled to be enforced in 2009. With the capacity to show whether or not a substance damages cells or hinders their development, R.E.TOX® is significantly faster and more economical – as well as being socially acceptable – than animal testing. In addition to safer products, benefits include increased customer accountability and decreased liability risk.
