Lithium-ion Battery Testing

TÜV Rheinland Japan has started Lithium-ion battery testing service in 2008.
In November 2007, the amendment bill has passed in Japan to include Lithium-ion secondary batteries within the scope of the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law.
The revised Technical Requirements including new requirements for Lithium-ion Batteries was issued on May 14th 2008 and will come into effect on November 20th 2008.
Manufacturers and importers have obligation to comply with the Technical Requirements..

    TÜV Rheinland Japan Global Technology Center (Yokohama, Japan)
    (A part of the testing might be outsourced.) 
  4. Lead time:
    About 1-2 month(s) for battery pack
    * More than 2 months for battery cell 
    * Needs more time depending on specification of the battery and laboratory workload.

    Battery cell: 90-100
