Tests of mechanical products
The manufacturers and operators shall pay distinguished attention to the fact that their products can be used safely not only by the specialists but by the naive laymen, too.
A badly designed ladder, an incorrectly constructed shelf, an imperfectly fixed goal cause or may cause frequently serious and unfortunately lethal accident at the innocent user. There is an efficient resolution for these problems.
It is a little bit amazing for the first time and therefore it is also thought-provoking that how distinguished are handled risks being in connection with the electricity of the others being present in our surrounding. It is right because an electric shock is very often lethal but in the case of survivors the irreversible injuries are relatively seldom, whereas at the accidents caused by mechanical constructions they may produce for the survivors very often serious and life-long lasting damages.
While the electricity due to its invisibility is encompassing by mythic fear as far as the merely mechanical faults due to their obviousness are raising the illusion of the easily avoidable risks. But here may also reach us snaky accidents. For example due to for example the incorrectly designed parts, a non-perfectly realized structure or the insufficiently selected basic materials these devices may also hide non visible risks.
The majority of deficiencies and failures would be avoided by a thorough and professional designing but the full safety never cannot be guaranteed. Nevertheless after the appropriate designing and checking and by the suitable surveillance during production the hidden risks may be minimized.
It is a little bit better, but it may cause a lot of irritations even a demand for compensation when a given device although does not have accident risks but it does not operate well, it has faulty sizes or it cannot be used.

The safety and merchantability of products are tested at our Mechanical Department based on the features as follows:
- strength tests
- composition tests
- chemical partial tests (PAH, content of heavy metal and other dangerous or poisonous materials)
- life-time tests
- climatic tests
- endurance tests
- ingress of solid materials and water (IP) testing
- factory inspection
- checks of packaging
- checks of documentation and mandatory markings
Main areas of mechanical testing:
- toys
- sports equipment, sports grounds, play grounds
- office supplies
- shelves, storing racks and rack systems
- mechanical hand-tools (for example.: hobby tools, ladders, painting and tiller devices)
- free time and garden devices (pl.: garden tools, secateurs, barrows, grills, garden chairs and tables, deck-chairs, flower holders, litter boxes)
- other devices (all of the until now non sorted, non electrical devices ( e.g. nails, rods, sparkling water maker, etc.)
Partial tests
Alongside the complete conformity or type-testing according to the wish of our partners it is possible to test/measure each feature or to evaluate/certify the conformity with a part of a provision or standard as well.
Mark licence
Beyond the minimum required safety the safety marks which may be affixed to the products and/or indicated within advertising matters represent commercial advantage against the competitors on the marketplace. Such kind of marks e.g. the TÜVdotCOM mark, which makes verifiable the product by photos and descriptions on the home page of TÜV Rheinland emphasizing by this the product safety.
GS mark according to the German Product Safety Act (Geprüfte Sicherheit). The base of this mark is the regular surveillance of the product and production process. This is important because the indication of GS mark, which sets up serious requirements against the products, is recently on one hand a condition for the great volume of products to enter the West-European and particularly the German market, on the other hand this is an expectation of the customers.
The basis of the carefree utility of equipment is the confidence in the product safety.
