Challenges for the inverters
At solar panels (and at some wind turbines) the generated current has continuously changing parameters, which is converted by inverters to 50/60Hz alternating current. The inverters must always have appropriate characteristic like safety and high efficiency. In addition to that, their electrical and mechanical components must have long service life. These and the other high requirements are real challenges for the manufacturers and are particularly important for the investors and users.
Grid compatibility, quality requirements
The inverters of the renewable energy systems connected to the grid must fulfill several requirements. These are the life and property safety, as well as reliability. Also important parameters are the quality of the generated current (THD, cosΦ, protective functions), ability to avoid the island operation, operational reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, construction quality and the quality of the documentation. There are challenging task for the manufacturer and important characteristics for the buyers.
