Electrical measurement, control and laboratory use equipment
This category includes equipment that are used for industrial, laboratory and educational purposes, including:
- the electrical measuring and examining devices are capable of measuring one or more electric or non-electric quantity, furthermore are capable of naming or registering these quantities;
- the electrical monitoring, regulating and controlling devices are capable of maintaining one or more output quantity even by manual, local , or by remote control;
- the electrical laboratory devices that are capable of measuring, naming, monitoring or analysing materials.
The most important safety regulation system for electrical measuring, controling and laboratory equipment is the international IEC 61010 standard series. The European (EN) and Hungarian (MSZ EN) standards are based on them.
The given device should be evaluated according to special requirement of the product standards that have to be used together with the basic standard. The product standards were given the 61010-2-x identifier in the IEC and in the Cenelec (EN) standard system. The Hungarian standards use these product standards as well.

- EN 61010-2-032 - Hand-held and hand-manipulated current sensor for electrical test and measurement
- EN 61010-2-041 – Autoclaves using steam for the treatment of medical materials, and for laboratory process
- EN 61010-2-051 – Laboratory equipments for mixing and stirring
- EN 61010-2-081 – Automatic and semiautomatic laboratory equipments for analysis and other purposes
- EN 61010-2-101 – In vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical equipments.
