BRC Global Standards for Food & Packaging
Target groups and purpose
Developed by the British Retail Consortium, the BRC Global Standard outlines the requirements imposed by British retailers for food product safety. Almost all retailers in Great Britain stipulate that their suppliers must hold BRC certification. We certify food manufacturers in line with the BRC Global Standard for Food. We also certify packaging manufacturers in line with the BRC Global Standard for Packaging.
Requirements of the BRC Standard
Your company must meet the following criteria in order to be certified under BRC:
- You already work with the HACCP standard.
- You have introduced and documented an effective quality management system.
- You conduct regular internal inspections of products, processes and personnel.
Increased safety for packaging
The Packaging standard enables you to identify and manage usage risks and establish preventative measures. The regulations include more than 20 product categories: from paints and other DIY articles through cleaning agents and household chemicals to textiles.
