Basic information for marketing in Europe
By law, products traded on the European Union market must comply with the following general certification requirements:
- they must have an EC type certificate (MODULE B);
- in addition to which, supplementary certification proving conformity selected by the given MODULE.
This certification can only be issued by Notified Body.
The procedural order begins when the applicant makes a declaration that the product put forward in the application for certification complies with the relevant EU safety requirements (CE conformity) and the applicants expects to receive such certification from the certifying body.
The following information must be included in the manufacturer’s application:
- name and address of manufacturer, and if the application is being submitted by an authorized agent, then the name and address of the authorized agent as well;
- manufacturer’s declaration on EC compliance;
- declaration that the same application has not been submitted to any other registered body;
- product/products submitted for certification:
- technical documentation,
- general descriptions of the product,
- components, part units and manufacturing plans and sketches.
