Approvals for Australia and New Zealand

Certificate of Compliance for Two Markets

Whether it's household appliances or mobile phones - Australian import conditions require that your products have undergone successful safety checks based on IEC-standards. The standards for electromagnetic compatibility are in line with European norms. Do you intend to import your products to New Zealand? Thanks to bilateral agreements, Australian approvals are also valid for the New Zealand market. With local support from TÜV Rheinland, you can obtain the required certificate of compliance quickly and easily.

Electrical Products

In Australia, electrical products are divided into two categories: Declared Articles and Non-Declared Articles. The class of Declared Articles includes sixty well-defined product types, from switches to refrigerators. We can test and certify safety and security on the basis of IEC standards. Non-Declared Articles, on the other hand, do not need approvals; however, they must meet minimum safety requirements. We offer voluntary product certification for this proof.

The C-Tick Mark

The requirements for electromagnetic compatibility in Australia and New Zealand are identical to European requirements. As proof, we can also provide the required C-Tick mark. The mark is preceded by registration with the Australian Communications Authority. Telephones, modems, and similar devices require A-Tick approval, which you can certify with the corresponding A-Tick Mark.

Medical Products

Mutual Recognition Agreements, or MRAs, are available for medical products in Australia and New Zealand. These MRAs allow manufacturers in Europe to carry out conformity assessments and then apply for approval in Australia and New Zealand.
