TÜV Rheinland is an expert in the safety and quality testing of tools and Do-It-Yourself products.The wide variety of products tested ranges from handheld tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, insulated tools to workbenches and other equipment. Products with the TÜV GS Mark offer a guarantee of safety and quality standards. The European Low Voltage Directive applies to insulated tools and the European Directive for Machinery applies to power operated tools such as air tools and power tools.

Our Services for Tools

The audit process lasts between four and six weeks. Following a successful audit, you can be awarded the following seals of approval:

GS Mark

The GS mark certifies that the product meets the applicable safety requirements, and that it has been tested according to European standards by an internationally recognized laboratory. The product meets the low voltage and machine directives.

CE Mark

Electric tools must be issued the CE mark. They must comply with the safety requirements of specific European directives. Our inspections provide valid certification of compliance.

CB Scheme

By participating in the CB scheme for the global market, our customers receive national certifications from other countries more quickly and cost effectively.
