The quality standard was initiated in 2005 by four of the most important system manufacturers and the association of European railway industries UNIFE, the railway industry's governing body. Our Services for IRIS Certification

TÜV Rheinland offers IRIS Certification to help develop a railway quality management system that demonstrates high levels of service quality and improved performance.

Your path to IRIS certification includes the following steps:

Stage 1 audit

The Stage 1 audit determines whether your company is eligible to be certified. Our audits determine what requirements associated with this standard have already been implemented in your company. On the basis of these results, you can implement optimization measures.

Stage 2 audit

During the Stage 2 audit, our auditors will examine all processes and documents based on the IRIS requirement, and assess the effectiveness of your management system implementation

Certification

Upon successful completion of your audit, you will receive the IRIS certificate, which will subsequently be published on both the www.iris-rail.org website and the TÜV Rheinland website at www.tuv.com. This is an effective method of showing the quality of your work openly and authentically – and ensuring you stand out from the competition.

Transparency Leads to Market Advantages

Each certified company will be registered in UNIFE's (Union des Industries Ferroviaires Européennes) IRIS database, and also published on the TÜV Rheinland's online certification database – databases often used by buyers from reputable manufacturers before selecting their suppliers. These entries represent authentic proof of quality in the eyes of potential contractors.

Moving steadily toward an integrated strategy

Generate synergies through an integrated management system strategy. For instance, combine IRIS certification with an environmental management system, occupational health and safety certification, or other industry-specific standards.
