Business Development / Project Manager for Rail Industry in Australia required

The Role:

As Business Development / Project Manager you will be responsible for developing our rail business and driving/delivering projects on time and on budget, while satisfying project objectives and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction, not only in Australia but also supporting and developing the business in the Asia Pacific Region. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle including tendering, and must ensure that projects are appropriately controlled with reference to project expenditure and timelines, and in accordance with contract terms and conditions.

Initially you can draw on resources of our global business field rail located in various regions (e.g. Europe, USA, Asia) but you will be expected to gradually build-up a local team of rail experts to serve the need of our clients in Australia and in the Asia Pacific region.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A Tertiary Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)

• Working experience in the rail sector of more than 8 years with extensive knowledge of the Australian rail system and a wide range of contacts within the Australian rail industry;

• Experience in other countries, preferably in the Asia Pacific region, would be of advantage

• A proven track record in delivering projects of up to $5m in the rail area;

• Knowledge of Train Control Systems (e.g. ETCS Levels 1 and 2) would be of advantage but is not a must

• Well developed project management skills including; planning, control/reporting, escalation and budget management;

• Strong commercial acumen; managing contracts and financial outcomes;

• Advanced negotiation skills and experience in resolving barriers to success and driving project outcomes through to completion;

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Project Management tools, etc)

• Experience in HR Management (building/leading teams) in an intercultural environment

• Excellent communications skills

• Foreign language skills would be an advantage
