Engineers and persons working in the field of functional safety - either as product developer or -applicant - can update and deepen their knowledge and obtain the qualification of a TUV Functional Safety Engineer by attending a training of the TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program relating to standards IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62061 and ISO 26262.
TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program
The TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program is the only worldwide extended vocational training program in the area of Functional Safety where knowledge and competencies are approved of by a third neutral party and where certificates are issued.
TÜV Rheinland has institutionalised this training program in 2004 together with national and international companies and experts of the Functional Safety business. Since today more than 3,500 engineers have participated in trainings and successfully passed the exam to become a TÜV Functional Safety Engineer.
This 4 day course is run in accordance with the TÜV Functional Safety Program and comprises three days of classroom tuition and practical guidance, for understanding and mastering the application, principles and requirements of Edition 2 IEC 61508 & IEC 61511 for safety instrumented systems (SIS). There is a six hour competency examination on the fourth day. Practical exercises will be performed throughout the course based on real life examples.
Successful participants, who must also demonstrate that they have a minimum of 3 years functional safety experience, will achieve the prestigious TÜV FS Engineer certification.
The above training courses are organised by TUV Rheinland Head Office in Germany and delivered locally in the UK.
