Metallography and Fractography

  • Analysis and evaluation of production- and operation-related effects on material structure using macro- and micro-sections
  • Analysis of fracture surfaces, enclosures, and deposits using light-optical methods, electron microscopy, and an energy-dispersive X-ray micro-probe
  • Determination of the type and cause of fractures
  • Evaluation of microstructures in-situ using portable metallography replica methods

Strain Measurements

Resistance and capacitance foil strain gages in all temperature ranges to determine single-axis or 2-axis strain conditions

Fracture Mechanics

When a crack is found in a component, the component does not always need to be replaced immediately. We assess whether the crack will remain stable or continue to grow, and whether the component can continue to be operated safely despite the crack, for example, with the help of fracture mechanics.

Softlines RSL testing

Textile and apparel testing is vital for Fashion industry and conducted so that apparel manufacturers, clothing retailers and fashion wholesalers can evaluate and ensure the quality of the garments they manufacture and sell is safe to use by consumers and fit for the purpose, conforms to international or regional compliance, retain performance specification, quality standards, meets product liability, environmental and other current legislation, prevent recalls and promote repeat sales.

It is important for the manufacturers to learn and understand about fabric testing methods set by retailers and to stay compliant in regard to quality. If a clothing manufacturer does not know the retailer testing standard requirements that company may run into problems such as receiving a chargeback claims or returned merchandise.

TÜVR laboratories work according to the test procedures established by national and international standards (AATCC, ASTM, ISO, EN) for the following category of products:

  • Children's clothing
  • Adult's clothing
  • Home textiles
  • Shoes and leather items

We carry out tests as below,

  • Chemical analysis as per Restricted Substances List (RSL): Formaldehyde, pH, azo colorants, pentachlorophenol, flame retardant finish, pesticides, nickel, cadmium, antimony, phthalates, DMF,Antimicrobial Testing
  • REACH – SVHC Testing
