Compliance & Corporate Social Responsibility
Compliance
Integrity is one of the key foundations of any successful organization; we at TUV Rheinland are highly committed to the same. We have structured Non-Disclosure Agreements and Confidentiality Agreements signed with employees, partners and other stake holders that spell out our policy on integrity issues and consequences thereof.
With the Group being a signatory to the UN Global Compact we have an added responsibility to ensure that strictly enforce these principles amongst our employees and stake holders. Each employee is also bound to take up the e-learning compliance training. This is mandated for all employees on rolls and in the second phase, will be rolled out to employees on contract basis also. Issues of concerns or whistle blowers can always be addressed directly to the Compliance Officer, India or to the Headquarters too.
Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR Initiatives reflect the vision of the company to pro-actively participate in the community development. The Company has been actively participating in working closely in the educational sector by providing basic infrastructure to the school.
Some of our recent CSR initiatives
- Employees donated a day’s salary and some of them also volunteered to render social service to people affected by the Tsunami in December 2004.
- Employees participated in blood donation camps organized exclusively for our company by Lions’ Blood Bank in Bangalore for four consecutive years in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
- Employees offered a one day salary and contributed to the Deccan Herald Flood Relief Fund for people affected in the floods in Bihar (Eastern India) during 2008.
- Employees once again volunteered to offer one day’s salary in November 2009 to the flood affected people of North Karnataka and out of the amount collected provided tables, chairs and school benches to the children of about 7 villages which were badly affected.
- TUV Rheinland India helped a Tent School at Kundalahalli, near Whitefield, Bangalore (meant for children of construction workers in the unorganized sector) and provided the school with Chairs and Furniture apart from providing school books and sweets during the visit of Mr. Ulrich Feitz in May 2009.
- TUV Rheinland India donated furniture and school books to a Government Primary School at Gandhipuram near Whitefield during the visit of Mr. Friedrich Hecker in February 2010.
- Mr. Enrico Ruhle, Managing Director, participated in a function organized by the CISCO in Raichur, North Karnataka, wherein we provided solar panels from our Arizona facility to the school.
- A similar activity was undertaken at Thimmiah Reddy Government Primary, Middle and High School, Hosur Road, Bangalore during the visit of Dr Manfred Bayerlein to India in October 2011.
Plans Ahead
- We propose to build rest rooms for school children and also plan to build an auditorium for the Thimmiah Reddy Government School.
- We plan to adopt the Thimmiah Reddy Government School and add the same to our CSR Portfolio that gives us the liberty of roping in the school children for constructive activities and also plan for the overall development of the school in the longer run.
- We plan to expand these activities across India, at least in cities where have our presence and diversify such activities.
- At the local level, we draw up an activity ( on the lines mentioned in the earlier paragraphs) for each office and secure a report card at the end of the year. This exercise shall commence from the calendar year 2012.
- We also coordinate with HO in Germany to explore funding opportunities for larger projects.
