Noise and Vibration Protection
Noise can come from lots of places: airports, road and rail traffic, loud machines in the workplace, manufacturing operations, and open-air sports facilities in neighborhoods. The goal of noise control is to protect people and the environment from the harmful effects of noise pollution, which can result in stress, hearing impairments, a weakened immune system, and cardiovascular disease for those exposed to it.
Planning Noise and Vibration Control
Whether it involves constructing new or expanding existing industrial facilities or developing residential areas, noise protection always starts in the planning stage. As a general rule, the first step is to carry out noise protection analyses. Noise levels are measured and recorded in so-called “noise maps” or “noise models.” They are then used as the basis for developing suitable noise protection measures. A similar approach is used to protect against vibration – in railway construction, for example.
