G42 Check-ups for Activities with Risk of Infection
Prevent Infectious Diseases
From kindergartens to waste management to healthcare - if your employees come into contact with micro-organisms and pathogens, they suffer from an occupational risk of infection. Occupational health screening helps reduce the risk of disease. Our occupational physicians can give advise on how to ensure proper protection. And in the case of diseases that can be prevented by vaccination, they can provide the right immunizations.
Benefits at a Glance
With TÜV Rheinland as your partner for screening risk of infection, you can:
- Avoid causing or aggravating ill health among your employees due to their activities
- Fulfill all legal requirements for activities involving respirators and reduce risk of liability
- Gain legal peace of mind vis-à-vis occupational safety authorities and trade associations
- Benefit from the high level of training of our personnel, always state-of-the-art
- Save time and money through our research facilities in several locations, efficient management, and short-term appointments
Our Approach
Based on an initial risk assessment, we get together with you to determine which employees need the medical examination. After we arrange an appointment by telephone, we conduct the check-up for your employee in an occupational health center in your area. The scope of examination is based on the employee’s occupational and personal circumstances - for example, their vaccination status. We explain to your employees which vaccinations and boosters are needed and dispense them where necessary. We then issue an occupational certificate of health.
Target Groups for G 42 Checks
Our check-ups are tailored to your employees’ tasks. While protection against hepatitis A, B, and C plays a major role in the field of medicine in particular, the focus of childcare is on the risk of childhood diseases. Employees in the garden and forest organizations should be protected against infection by Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis (TBE). Depending on the level of protection, check-ups for your employees are either mandatory or must be offered as voluntary check-ups if they belong to these groups:
- Health care professionals, such as doctors, dentists, and nurses
- Medical technicians
- Nursing staff in nursing homes
- Child care personnel and educators
- Personnel working in veterinary medicine and animal care
- Garden and landscaping staff
- Forestry workers
- Waste management and recycling employees
Mandatory or Voluntary?
We can advise you personally on which tests your company needs. Ask our occupational physicians.
Legal Standards
- Trade association principles for activities involving risk of infections (G 42)
- Regulation on occupational health screening (Verordnung zur arbeitsmedizinischen Vorsorge of 18 December 2008, or ArbMedVV)
