Certification According to IRIS

The Railway Industry Standard for the Highest Quality

From track guiding to braking systems, the International Railway Industry Standard, IRIS for short, offers railway industry suppliers a uniform language, uniform guidelines, and the mutual recognition of inspections. The quality standard was initiated in 2006 by four of the most important system manufacturers and UNIFE, the governing body of the railway industry. It is based on ISO 9001 requirements and is internationally recognized. Choose what you need – whether you only want to have specific sub-areas of your company checked, just ask our experts. Together we will find the type of certification that suits you best.

Transparency Leads to Market Advantages

Each certified company will be registered in UNIFE's (Union des Industries Ferroviaires Européennes) IRIS database, and also published on the TÜV Rheinland Web site – databases often used by buyers from reputable manufacturers before selecting their suppliers. These entries represent authentic proof of quality in the eyes of potential contractors.

Improved Quality On The Rails In Three Easy Steps

Your path to IRIS certification:

Stage 1 audit

The first step involves determining whether your company is eligible to be certified. Our audits determine whether any requirements associated with this standard have already been implemented in your company. On the basis of these results, you can implement optimization measures.

Stage 2 audit

During the second step, we will examine all processes and documents based on the IRIS requirement catalogue.

Certification

Following successful completion of the audit you will receive the certificate, which will subsequently be published on both the www.iris-rail.org Web site and the TÜV Rheinland Web site at www.tuv.com. This is an effective method of showing the quality of your work openly and authentically – and makes sure you stand out from the competition.
