Certification According to KTQ

Quality Assurance In Healthcare

Whether you run a hospital, rehabilitation center or a care facility – cooperation for transparency and quality in healthcare (KTQ) certification evaluates all the services your establishment provides based on its processes. With KTQ certification, your focus is on patient satisfaction – from preparations for in-patient stays to medical care and patient discharges. Our employees coordinate your certification during site visits.

Patient Welfare Counts

The KTQ procedure is based on self-assessment and external assessment procedures. You assess your patient and employee focus, hospital management, and inter-departmental quality management systems in a questionnaire. However, quality management is only one aspect of the certification process; patient focus is the core objective.

Benefits at a Glance

KTQ certification from TÜV Rheinland enables you to:

  • Meet the legal requirements for quality management in health care
  • Improve patient confidence
  • Increase satisfaction among patients and employees
  • Boost quality awareness and optimize your internal processes

Three Steps To Greater Quality Healthcare

Our experts perform KTQ certification in three steps.

1. Self-assessment

In the first step, you use the criteria from the KTQ catalog to assess your own organization. This lets you describe the current situation, identify room for improvement, and establish inter-departmental communication structures.

2. External assessment (site visits)

External assessments are done on site. Four people usually carry out on-site visits: three independent KTQ visitors and one visiting attendant from TÜV Rheinland to coordinate the process.

3. Quality report and issue of certificate

If your hospital achieves a score of more than 55% in external assessment, the certification body issues the KTQ certificate, which you can use for promotional purposes.

Special Notes

The KTQ certificate is valid for three years. In contrast to ISO certification procedures, no surveillance audits are performed during this time.
