Requirements for Certification in Compliance with EN 1090ff
As a basis for certification according to EN 1090ff, your company must pass several tests, such as:
- Welder examinations
- Welding procedure testing
- ISO 3834 - quality assurance in welding operations
- Implementation and continuous supervision of Factory Production Control System
The EN 1090 Certification Process
Once we receive your application for certification in compliance with EN 1090, we will conduct the initial inspection of your factory production control system.
If it fulfills all required criteria, you will obtain the factory production certificate.
We can also provide you with the regular monitoring you need for on-going compliance with EN 1090.
The Legal Situation
Over twenty years ago, the Construction Products Directive (CPD) 89/106/EE C came into force in Europe. The aim of the directive is to standardize the manufacturing of construction products and guarantee free trade and the unlimited use of these products within the EU.
Sections of the CPD were already adopted and harmonized across Europe in the past few years, such as the EN 10025ff standard for hot-rolled products from structural steel. At the end of 2010, the EN 1090ff standard replaced the nationally applicable regulations DIN 18800-7 DIN V 4113-3.
By the middle of 2012 – when the transitional period has expired – all metal producing and processing companies working under construction supervision must be certified according to EN 1090-1.
