Voluntary Commitment

The United Nations Global Compact

An important strategic step was the signing of the Global Compact, a voluntary economic initiative of the United Nations, in 2006. With signing the Global Compact, we promised to support the global implementation of human rights, occupational health and safety, environmental protection and anticorruption initiatives. In order to implement this commitment in the entire Group, in 2007 we included the principles of the Global Compact in our Mission Statement and developed the Company Policy on Values and Responsibility. Currently we are systematically building management structures for sustainability and CSR (corporate social responsibility). The CSR and Sustainability Department promotes the subject and informs colleagues through training sessions and regular communication.

The International Federation of Inspection Agencies and other bodies

TÜV Rheinland is a member of various groups and associations. In addition to the Global Compact, these include the international inspection agencies' umbrella organization, IFIA (International Federation of Inspection Agencies), the Round Table on Codes of Conduct of the Federal Republic of Germany, and several CSR working groups.
