Stakeholder

How are our activities perceived? What do stakeholders see as relevant subjects for us? Where can we make improvements? To clarify these questions we commissioned an international qualitative survey by the well-known sustainability solutions provider Schlange & Co at the beginning of 2010. Representatives of TÜV Rheinland’s most important stakeholders were surveyed.

Sustainability Initiatives

There is a great interest in transparent sustainability reporting by TÜV Rheinland. At present, the majority of stakeholders are mainly aware of sustainability initiatives in the areas of products and services, as well as our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact.

A majority of those surveyed had heard about our commitment through private conversations. One of the concrete suggestions made by those surveyed was a stronger commitment to sustainability within the Group through campaign days and a stronger networking with customers. TÜV Rheinland seeks to maintain a regular and, above all, international exchange with stakeholders and is already represented in dialogue forums, such as the Round Table on Codes of Conduct of the Federal Republic of Germany or the German Global Compact Network.

What does the future hold for TÜV Rheinland?

In the opinion of our stakeholders the following topics will be relevant:

  • Technological safety
  • Plant safety
  • Initial and advanced training
  • Climate protection
  • Anti-corruption
  • Conservation of resources
  • Compliance
  • Sustainable energy supply
  • Sustainable mobility
  • Environmental and social standards with suppliers, occupational health and safety, life cycle analysis
