Brand ranking for electric cars

In the 2011 Global E-Mobility Survey, TÜV Rheinland looked at levels of acceptance and the market potential for electric vehicles in 12 leading automotive markets, including China, the USA and Germany. Each year, the experts from the TÜV Rheinland Group carry out around four million general inspections of motor vehicles worldwide. The general inspection of motor vehicles in Germany comprises around 160 points ranging from the lighting installation, brake system and tyres through to fire safety.

Long-term Test of Electric Cars

With the start of a long-term test on E-mobiles, TÜV Rheinland is emphasising its expertise in the field of electromobility. In Cologne in July 2010, the testing service provider took over a leased vehicle of the Micro-Vett Fiorino E model from energy provider RWE and opened a 400 V quick charging station on the site of their headquarters in the city.

World Largest Inspection Centre in Riga

Every year, the expert of the TÜV Rheinland Group carry out a total of some four million general inspections on motor vehicles, of which approx. two million inspections in Germany alone and two million inspections in other countries. The world’s largest inspection centre with a total of 16 lanes is run by TÜV Rheinland in Riga, Latvia.
