DIN-Geprüft Qualified Enterprises of Pellet Logistics
In addition to ensuring the high product quality of wood pellets during the manufacturing process, it must be guaranteed that the quality of the entire logistical chain from the manufacturer to the end user is maintained. The DIN-Geprüft qualified enterprises of "Pellet Logistics" ensures the fully satisfactory handling and delivery of fuel to the end user.
The basic certification specifications are laid down in the certification scheme Din-Geprüft for qualified logistic enterprises, "Wood Pellets - Quality Assurance during Transportation and Warehouse Logistics", which contains the requirements of the ÖNORM M 7136 and further important stipulations in regard to questions concerning the practical implementation of these requirements. Moreover, of course, also in pellet logistics the requirements of the two product standards
- DIN 5173 The Testing of Solid Fuels - Compressed Products Made of Untreated Natural Wood
- ÖNORM M 7135
are likewise taken into consideration.
The trader/transportation company must provide proof that only certified wood pellets bearing the quality mark DINplus are supplied and delivered. Certified wood pellets must be stored and transported separately from non-certified pellets. Apart from the requirements applicable to warehousing, certain requirements pertaining to intermediate storage, the transport vehicles, delivery to the final customer, as well as the delivery personnel must be fulfilled.
The monitoring of conformity is conducted firstly in the form of in-house quality management of the purchased pellets under the responsibility of the supplier/transportation company. Secondly, the correct execution of the in-house quality management is regularly monitored - as a rule once a year - by means of external, third-party inspections commissioned by DIN CERTCO.
