Shoddy workmanship at the construction site means trouble, stress and frequently also additional costs for construction company and contractor and for the contracting clients. The economic damage which comes into being each year as a result of construction defects in Germany totals about DM 20 billion.

So as to ensure quality at the construction site, TÃœV awards the "TÃœV at the construction site" quality seal only to companies which meet extremely strict criteria.

TÃœV's service package for construction companies comprises two parts: the company audit and the checks on individual objects. The company's quality capability is checked in the course of a company audit. TÃœV awards the construction quality seal if the company-internal systems meet the criteria in terms of specialist, organizational and technial skills.

The construction objects are checked on the basis of comprehensive checklists. Defects and deviations are documented. The documentation represents the basis for remedying the defect.

When it has been properly completed, every object is given the "TÃœV at the construction site" certificate.

Contracting clients of private houses may make use of two possibilities for gaining TÃœV-tested construction quality: they commission a TÃœV-certified construction company or contractor.

Alternatively, they can have a person providing a TÃœV expert report accompany the construction of their house or flat.
