Requirements

To sell and operate fax equipment in the European Union, you must fulfill the basic requirements of the R&TTE Directive (1999/5/EC) with respect to:

• Personal safety
• Electromagnetic compatibility
• Protection of the public telephone network

Proof of functionality is not a statutory requirement. Compatibility of fax machines with each other is, however, an indispensable marketing require­ment.
