Short Range Device (SRD)

A finger presses lightly on the button of a tiny hand-held transmitter and the door of the approaching car driver's garage opens. It's annoying though if instead of the garage door, the radio-controlled central locking of the car parked in front of the neighbour's house opens.

To avoid such mishaps, TÜV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH (TRPS), a company in the TÜV Rheinland Group, certifies short-range radio devices (SRDs) which comply with standards such as, e.g.:

  • ETS 300 220
  • ETS 300 330
  • ETS 300 440

as well as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical safety standards. We open up access for you to the European Market with respect to the new R&TTE Directive.
