TÜV Rheinland offers two important methods of analysis to whoever wants to ensure that energy is used more efficiently in their home. This ensures that it is easier to identify the points at which a house is needlessly losing energy.

Thermography

TÜV Rheinland uses the latest technology in infra-red cameras. We are able to record virtually every location in every size of building. The thermogram analysis, documentation of the thermodynamic status and analysis and evaluation of data forms part of our reporting based on the recordings. We detect:

• Thermal bridges
• Deficient insulation
• Leaks
• Leaks in screed-laid water pipes
• Heat losses through heating equipment and boilers

Airtightness test

With the blower door measurement, we certify the building's tightness for new build or identify weak points, such as faults in the ventilation systems. The airtightness test also has an important role to play in the assessment of low energy houses.
