Quality management success factors
Fulfill your potential*
As a quality manger you are the driving force behind the introduction and establishment of a quality management system. Fulfill your potential and exert an influence on the key success factors.
Success factor 1: Motivation
Every year, the ExBa (benchmark survey on excellence in the German economy) investigates the performance of German companies. A key distinguishing feature is business success; successful companies, according to a special quality management survey (ExBa QM 2005), implement a QM system to optimize internal processes and increase performance. Improving performance is their motivation. Less successful companies feel obliged to undergo certification to meet customer requirements.
Your opportunity as a quality manager
Secure the active support of the senior management. If a sense of obligation is the main motivator, demonstrate the benefits that internal improvement goals can bring. We will be happy provide our impartial, expert support in marketing yourself.
Success factor 2: Quality management as an internal service
Quality management is highly important to a company’s success. Two thirds of managers and quality mangers surveyed as part of the ExBa even expect it to gain in importance. At the same time however, managers often view QM as bureaucratic.
Your opportunity as a quality manager
Break down the barriers and translate QM into the language of those employees who are directly affected. You will become an internal adviser making the most of the performance-driving power of QM for your company’s management. You will thus permanently strengthen the image of quality management within your company.
Success factor 3: Use QM to retain customers
As far as senior managers are concerned, the quality manager’s main priority is assuring product quality. The quality of services, in their view, comes a definite second. However, it is precisely here where QM has much more to offer, because business success relies on customer loyalty.
Your opportunity as a quality manager
Your role as a quality manager is to improve service quality and make customer focus a central part of your company’s culture. Integrate systems that increase customer satisfaction and encourage an emotional attachment to your company. Increase customer loyalty with ‘Certified service quality’ or the Service Quality System.
