It has become impossible for modern companies to compete on national and international markets if they do not constantly monitor quality. This is especially true of the motor industry and of its component suppliers in particular.
However, defects occur time an time again, in spite of extensive internal tests and inspections. This is usually because there is a weakness in "quality management", which costs individual firms not only time and effort but also money. To diagnose and eliminate potential sources of defects and to achieve optimum results, your firm's quality system should be set up in accordance with the ISO 9000 series of standards. Such a quality system ensures consistent product and service quality, establishes clear responsibilities and results in transparent working procedures. Thus unproductive activities are avoided and potential scope for cost-cutting is more easily indentified. The certificate testifies to the effectiveness of the quality system and its conformity with the relevant globally valid standards. In this way, proof of the firm's commitment to quality is also presented to its clientele - an additional advantage in the ever harsher climate of competition on national and international markets.

TÃœV quality in line with European standards
TÃœV Rheinland's Motor Vehicle Certification Body (Zertifizierungsstelle Kraftfahrt) is accredited by the Federal Motor Vehicle and Transport Authority (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt) and is therefore authorised to certify your company's quality systems in accordance with national and international standards. The Certification Body's competence covers the entire field of automotive engineering. It is aimed at every firm which is engaged in production, assembly, sale, operation or repair of motor vehicles and components.

The Certification Body also offers assistance with the verification procedure. In this case, a less thoroughgoing, chiefly product-orientated review of your quality system is conducted.

Proven quality
Various regulations relating to the international type approval for motor vehicles as well as the national (German) regulations governing the use of vehicles for road traffic (StVZO) require that when granting approvals and issuing technical component reports (Teilegutachten), requirements regarding manufacturers' quality systems must be satisfied and appropriate evidence provided. The best form of evidence is a certificate from the Motor Vehicle Certification Body (Zertifizierungsstelle Kraftfahrt), which is recognised as evidence on the basis of the accreditation awarded by the Federal Motor Vehicle and Transport Authority. In addition, it gives your clientele proof of your firm's commitment to quality.

A certificate with a future
TÃœV Rheinland's Motor Vehicle Certification Body will, on request, also make an initial appraisal of your quality system in the form of a "preliminary audit".
On successful completion of the actual "certification audit", you will be presented with the certificate, which qualifies you throughout the European market.

All the Certification Body's staff possesses sound knowledge of type approval procedures and quality management. Moreover, the Motor Vehicle Certification Body has auditors who have already been recognised and qualified to conduct certifications in accordance with QS 9000, VDA 6.1 or ISO / TS 16949 in co-operation with other certification bodies of the TÃœV Rheinland Group. The Body's work is supervised by an independent governing board. This ensures objectivity, competence and efficiency in your relationship with us.
