Hardware, IT
To market IT products successfully you need to maintain certain minimum standards and, increasingly, to fulfill quality requirements. Minimum safety standards for IT hardware are laid down in EU directive 72/23/EEC and EMC requirements in the electromagnetic compatibility directive 89/336/EEC.
Further requirements for radio and telecommunications terminal equipment are specified in the R&TTE directive (1999/5/EC). For products that are used in combination with a visual display unit (VDU), Germany’s health and safety regulations for work with VDUs (BildScharbV) also apply. As an accredited test center we test products that include the following:
- Audio/video devices
- Displays, PCs, notebooks, PDAs
- Printers and fax devices
- Input devices, keyboards, mice, joysticks
The basic requirements are subject to continuous review and adaptation to the latest EU directives (such as 2002/95/EC - RoHS, 2002/96/EC - WEEE), the state of the art, standards and market requirements such as the Blue Angel mark, EPA and the Warentest Foundation.

Depending on the requirement, our findings are documented in a test report, a data sheet, an expert opinion, a presentation and/or with a test mark.
