EMC Directive 89/336/EEC

This directive sets the requirements for the control of emissions and immunity. It covers all electrical and electronic products, in particular household appliances, data-processing equipment, information technology equipment, telecommunications equipment and machinery. Some products, such as automotive and medical devices, are required to meet the EMC requirements of product-specific directives. In these cases, the EMC requirements specified in each directive take precedence over those stated in the EMC Directive.
