Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Brauckmann

Director of Mobility of the TÜV Rheinland Group

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Brauckmann has been Director of Mobility of the TÜV Rheinland Group since May 2002. He is in charge of the Business Stream, Mobility and Transport, with a total of seven Business Fields. With approximately 2,650 employees, this business stream contributes to 30 percent of the business volume of the TÜV Rheinland Group.  

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Brauckmann came to the TÜV Rheinland Group in April 2000 to take the chair of Executive Director of the TÜV Energie und Umwelt GmbH, which is a group-affiliated company. In October of the same year, he was appointed Chairman of Management of the TÜV Kraftfahrt GmbH. Born in 1950 in Witten an der Ruhr, he began his studies and earned his doctorate at the Technical University of Clausthal. He began his professional career at Mannesmannröhren-Werke AG. He acquired comprehensive international experience and knowledge through corporate management, which was the basis of his good reputation in the Board of Directors of the Energie und Umwelttechnik AG within the Babcock Group in the 1990s.

1977 Mannesmannröhren-Werke AG, Hüttenwerk Duisburg: Assistant for blast furnace/coking plant technology; works superintendent for powder metal facility  

1983 Management assistant at Mannesmannröhren-Werke AG Düsseldorf  

1987 Chief Executive Officer, IRS Stahlhandel, Krefeld 

1989 Lentjes AG, Düsseldorf (power plant technology and industrial plant construction); Head of Production and Assembly  

1991 Appointed Assistant Board Member for Production, Assembly, Deadline Control and Quality Assurance at Lentjes AG, Düsseldorf  

1992 Chief Executive Officer, Babcock-Lentjes Kraftwerkstechnik GmbH, Oberhausen, with responsibility for Production, Logistics and International Sourcing  

1994 Joined the Board at Energie und Umwelttechnik AG (part of the Babcock Group)  

1997  Appointed Head of the Industrial Services segment in the Babcock Group and Chairman of the Board at Deutsche Babcock-Borsig, Berlin  

4/2000 Moved to the TÜV Rheinland Group as Chairman of the Board at TÜV Energie und Umwelt GmbH
