Consumer tips - Child seats for cars
Small children should always be driven for as long as possible in a baby carrier facing the back seat, as only in this position is the sensitive neck and head of the baby sufficiently protected. If parents are using the baby carrier on the front passenger seat, they must switch off the airbag.
Fasten seats
If you have fitted a child seat on the back seat, it is recommended that you push the front seat as far forward as possible. Otherwise, your child could be pushed onto the back of the front seats in the event of an accident. The more securely the seat is fitted in the car, the better. Many car manufacturers therefore offer Isofix brackets, i.e. standardised metal clips on the back seats.
