Consulting / training

Before passenger, goods, handicapped persons and façade lifts are started up, a national acceptance test in accordance with § 9 of the Directive on Lifts (AufzV) is carried out. This test is regulated on the basis of the statutory provisions on the Law on Equipment Safety (GSG) in connection with the Directive on Lifts.

Since these systems involve a certain operating risk for users, third parties and the environment, lift systems are classified as being "in need of monitoring". These systems must be tested in accordance with the statutory provisions each year. The operator is responsible for observing this measure.

Do you know the positive effects of cooperation with TÜV?

One great advantage is that the operator is able to transfer this task by contract to TÜV Rheinland Berlin Brandenburg. Our TÜV experts take over the observance of deadlines and provide competent testing of your systems on the basis of the Directive on Lifts, thus guaranteeing a high level of safety. These tests ensure also the maintenance of value of your systems and an optimum availability for all users.

These tests determine in good time hidden defects and material wear and tear, which has a high probability of resulting in expensive repairs.

The first recurring test takes place one year after start-up. This interim check in accordance with § 11 of the Directive on Lifts includes checking the operating characteristics, the safety equipment and the emergency communication system. In the year following, a main check in accordance with § 10 of the Directive on Lifts is due. The greater scope of the test means additional tests. These recurring tests alternate each year over the entire operating life of the system.
