Germany’s Packaging Ordinance (VerpackV)
The objective of Germany’s Packaging Ordinance is to reduce the environmental impact of waste packaging. The ordinance stipulates the recycling rates required for companies that manage their own waste disposal and those involved in Germany’s dual system. These targets include the recycling of 75 percent of all glass packaging, 70 percent of foil packaging, and 60 percent of composites.
Your responsibilities as a company that manages its own waste disposal
As a company responsible for managing your own waste disposal, you are legally required to submit a mass flow verification document by May 1 each year. This proves the volume and nature of packaging material that you have put into circulation, withdrawn from circulation, and recycled. Furthermore, according to the most recent amendment to this law, you also have to document your collection and recycling structures.
Certification in only two steps
In the first step, we determine the packaging quantities that your company has brought into circulation. In the second step, we review the mass flow verification. If your recycling system meets the statutory requirements, we will issue the certificate to you.
