climatic protection and emission trading

Climate Change and International Emissions Trading

Climate change is a fact today: extreme weather conditions - especially rain and storm - destroy houses and properties of people worldwide. The costs of the effects of these disasters, as calculated by insurance companies, are tremendous.
As a result strategies for the reduction of greenhouse gases (GHG, especially CO2) have been set up on an international level. The European Union (EU) will establish a framework for GHG-emissions trading until 2005. A draft Directive is under negotiation. Worldwide emissions trading will be "a daily business" in the year 2008. By this strategy the emissions of GHG in industrialized countries shall be reduced by 5,2% compared to the levels of the year 1990.

TÜV Rheinland Group with its unique worldwide organisation offers its services as independent third party to all kind of climate change projects.
