Argentina (S-Mark)

Argentina has recovered once and for all from its financial crisis and is staging a powerful economic recovery.

Imports are set to continue to grow strongly again in the near future, and the prospects look especially good for suppliers of quality consumer goods. Utilize this enormous potential and conquer the Argentine market with us.

The Argentine accreditation agency OAA (Organismo Argentina de Acreditación) has granted TÜV Rheinland Argentina S.A. official recognition as one of the first product safety certification agencies. Our accreditation now extends to Electrical products, toys and steel tests.

In 2005, Argentina abolished the power and voltage limits that applied to mandatory testing of electrical products. As a result, many products with a rating of less than 50 volts now require certification.

In Argentina most international standards have been harmonized. Testing and certification of electrical equipment are based on IEC standards. Mains voltage is 220V AC and 50 Hz.

Plugs must be certificated to IRAM standards. In addition to the usual marks, in Argentina a warning label must be attached to the power cord.

The Argentine government regulates strictly the placing of products on the market. Resolution 197/2004 requires the testing and certification of products, while Resolution 96/2003 defines market surveillance. By using our Argentine TÜV S mark you will keep to a minimum the cost of market surveillance to you.

Our staff in Argentina will ensure that you are granted the required safety mark swiftly and without problems.

Would you like to market your product in other South and Central American states such as Brazil, Mexico, etc.? That’s no problem. We can help you there, too.
