Industrial safety in equipment and installations is an activity we can date back to TÜV’s origins. The increasing number of accidents in steam boilers of the first 19th Century industries required the intervention of the German government to guarantee people’s safety through the ongoing control of facilities, conducted by an independent third party.

Such were the origins of TÜV and the foundation of its current services. Incorporating new activities through the years, following the advances on the technique and environmental protection to guarantee the quality of life and the safety of people and property.
