Service Description
The service starts when the following documentation is submitted at the reception desk:
· Green Identification Card for the vehicle
· Road Tax Receipt
· Drivers License
· Inspections Log, Municipal (only for public transportation)
With this documents data load starts, the amount corresponding to the type of vehicle is collected and two copies of the invoice are printed. Then the customer is told what gate number to go to enter the inspection line.
Main controls conducted during Vehicle Technical Inspection are:
· Seat Belt: good working order and use of it prevents major injuries in case of an accident
· Lights Adjustment: prevents serious accidents due to visualization problems or dazzling.
· Brakes: must be efficient on the four wheels. A braking difference between right and left wheels, in flat, wet or humid roads, causes violent lateral movements or spins, with fatal consequences. Many are the frontal crashes with apparent unexplainable movements to the opposite driving lane; they are caused by the braking difference between the wheels of the same axis. Equipment at the Vehicle Technical Inspection plant accurately determines these differences.
· Shock Absorbers: lack of efficiency and/or malfunctioning causes instability (movements on curves, pitching etc.).
· Structure: to ensure the following will not detach from the structure (due to corrosion): engine, brake pedal and clutch pedal supports, gear box, shock absorbers, front axis assembly structure, etc.
· Exhaust Gases: in addition to preventing pollution and helping the driver control fuel consumption, they determine the reason why the vehicle does not run regularly and smoothly.
In addition to these controls that prevent most accidents, at the Vehicle Technical Inspection Plant over 20 vehicle controls are conducted, providing the driver safety and trust in his/her vehicle, thus knowing that there will not be risks of preventable accidents.
